Savor a scrumptious fresh pear pie recipe, showcasing ripe pears enveloped in a flaky crust, creating a delightful dessert for family and friends to enjoy during any occasion.
4 cups peeled and sliced uncooked pears
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon milk
1 pie pastry for 2 crust pie
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Place pears in a large bowl and toss with vanilla and lemon juice.
In another bowl mix flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and butter. Mix until crumbs form. Combine with the pear mixture.
Prepare pie pan with first crust. Turn pear mixture into a 9 inch pie pan. Cover with top crust, seal and flute edges. Slit crust for steam. Brush milk onto crust.
Bake 15 minutes in preheated 400 degree F oven then reduce heat to 350 degrees F and bake 30 minutes.
