Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

Just finished making this for my kids and it's a huge hit! We had to skip the peanuts because of an allergy in the family but otherwise made it as directed. They aren't as soft as regular rice krispie bars probably because there isn't any marshmallow in it but they are good and chewy.
