ingredients
4 cups uncooked long-grain white rice
1 1/3 cup seedless golden raisins
1 cup chopped dried apricots
1/4 cup dried minced onion
1/4 cup chicken bouillon granules
1 tablespoon sugar, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
directions
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Place 1 3/4 cups rice mix in each airtight container or self-sealing plastic bag.
To Prepare:
Combine 1 rice mix, 1 3/4 cups water and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine (optional) in a 2- to 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring once or twice.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Fluff with a fork.
Each packet makes 6 servings.
