ingredients
6 bacon slices
1 small onion, sliced
3 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
2 cans (14.5 ounce size) green beans, drained, half the liquid reserved
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons white vinegar
directions
Fry bacon until quite crisp; crumble.
Retain 1 1/2 tablespoons of bacon drippings. Add the onion to drippings and saute until lightly browned. Stir in cornstarch, salt and mustard. Stir in reserved green bean liquid and bring to a boil. Stir constantly.
Blend in brown sugar and vinegar; add drained green beans and heat through.
At serving time, garnish with crumbled bacon.
