The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
Amazing Meatless Bulgur Chili

ingredients
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped in big chunks
1 large yellow onion, chopped in big chunks
1 1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
2 cloves garlic
30 ounces canned tomatoes, chopped, reserve canning liquid
1/2 teaspoon salt, optional
30 ounces canned beans, kidney, pinto, and/or black, drained and rinsed
3 ounces canned black olives, drained and sliced
1/4 cup bulgur
directions
In a large, heavy saucepan, saute green pepper and onions in 1 to 2 teaspoons olive oil until soft. Add spices and saute a couple minutes more.
Press garlic into mixture and saute very briefly, being careful not to burn garlic. Add tomatoes and tomato liquid, then stir in remaining ingredients.
Simmer partially covered for at least 30 minutes.
