Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

30-60 minutes
ingredients
FILLING
1 1/3 cup milk
4 eggs, beaten
2/3 cup Bisquick
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon herbs
ADDITIONS
1 cup meat or seafood, cooked and chopped
1 1/2 cup vegetables, bite-sized
1 cup mushroom slices
1/2 onion, chopped or cut in rings
2 bell peppers, chopped or cut in rings
1 cup cheese, shredded
directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Thaw and drain vegetables if using frozen. Spray two foil pie plates with nonstick spray.
Mix meat, vegetables, and cheese. Divide mixture between the two pie plates. (If desired, reserve 1/8 cup cheese per pie plate to sprinkle on top during last 5 minutes of baking.)
Briefly beat filling ingredients (15 seconds in blender) until roughly chopped. Pour into pie plates. Bake 20 minutes, or until set in center. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
Note: Meat can be chicken, turkey, beef, ham, bacon, or even shrimp or crabmeat. Vegetables can be any kind your family likes, such as green beans, corn, carrots, asparagus, broccoli, or peas. If you use a watery vegetable such as tomatoes or zucchini, be sure to drain well. Cheese can be whatever will go well with the meat or seafood you choose. For a vegetable quiche, just use vegetables and mushrooms, and add more cheese.
