ingredients
2 pounds asparagus
olive oil, enough to coat bottom of the pan
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 can (4 ounce size) sliced mushrooms
salt and pepper, to taste
sliced onions to taste
2 dashes Italian seasoning
directions
Heat oil add onions; cook for 3 minutes then add garlic. Cook another minute.
Add asparagus and seasonings. Cook for 15 minutes. Add mushrooms cook an additional 5-7 minutes and serve.

This is a really good recipe for using out of season fresh asparagus. The time and cooking method really makes it tender and the combination of ingredients adds a lot of flavor. Normally I only steam in season fresh asparagus because the flavor is so much better but this recipe will get me through the off season.
