Glazed Apple Pie

ingredients
1 package double-crust pie pastry (for top and bottom)
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Glaze
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

directions
Place one crust in a 10-inch pie plate.
Mix sugar and cornstarch in a medium-sized saucepan. Add butter and cream and cook on low heat until thickened. Add vanilla. Mix apple slices with flour and cinnamon. Place in crust. Pour filling over apples.
Lay top crust over apples and pinch edges. Make air slits on the top crust. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and top with glaze.
For Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with vanilla and enough heavy cream to make it spread easily.
