The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

Thanksgiving feasting shouldn't mean hours in the kitchen, and lucky for you, this bone-in turkey breast slow cooker recipe with bacon gravy does all the heavy lifting.

5 slices bacon
5 1/2 pounds bone-in turkey breast, skin removed
1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper
1 can (10.5 ounce size) turkey gravy
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried sage
Place bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook until evenly brown. Drain and crumble.
Spray a slow cooker with cooking spray. Place turkey in the slow cooker. Season with garlic pepper.
In a bowl, mix the bacon, gravy, flour, Worcestershire sauce, and sage. Pour over turkey in the slow cooker. Cover slow cooker, and cook turkey 8 hours on Low.

I actually make this a few times a year and not just at Thanksgiving. The turkey is always super tender. I microwave some stuffing mix and serve the gravy over it. Yum!
