Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

Great recipe. Took it to a potluck dinner and brought back an empty pot. I doubled everything except the butter. I also added about 2 tsp ground mustard, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder. Fabulous! My kids loved it and they only like box Mac & Cheese!

I was very happy with this recipe. It was simple to do and pretty fast. I thought that if I had put the noodles in, it would have made them mushy. So instead right before I was to serve it, I cooked my noodles on the stove and mixed them in the cheese sauce when they were finished. It turned out great the first time which was a week ago. My family enjoyed it so much that they wanted me to make it again last night.

Love this! My mom found it & every time I make it everyone loves it. I had it for my daughters 2nd birthday & all the kids loved it. I agree if you double the batch, to reduce the amount of butter because it does become a bit greasy. What a great/easy dish. I also make the pasta ahead of time as a timesaver when throwing it together on party day!

I LOVE this recipe. Two things to remember. First, the noodles must be aldente. Second, unlike traditional crock post recipes, this must be eaten within 2-3 hours of assembly. Otherwise the starches will break down and it will become mush. Otherwise, GREAT FLAVOR!

I doubled the recipe and it was too greasy, so next time I didn't double the butter and it was wonderful. I put in about 1/4 cup extra cheese and sprinkled salt and pepper and MORE cheese on the top.

Made this recipe for my son's birthday party and it was a huge hit. I wanted some kid friendly foods and this was perfect, every Mom there asked for the recipe. Just be certain not to over cook the pasta before putting in the slow cooker.

I loved this recipe. I made it on Mother's Day for my MIL. The only alterations that I made was a box of rotini and 8 oz cheddar and 8 oz of italian blend cheese. We were kidding around that it was cheese soup with pasta because it was so cheesy but it was delicious. Kids would love it. Next time I make this I'll either try more pasta or less cheese.

This was mushy, starchy, and sickeningly cheesy. I can't believe such a simple recipe could turn out so gross! It needed pepper; it needed tomatoes; it needed a lot. When cooking pasta, al dente is the key. This recipe doesn't allow the chef to control when the pasta is done. Don't take the easy way out. Make your sauce and pasta separate. Combine the two when they're cooked to the desired consistency. If you're looking for a quick fix Velveeta shells and cheese taste just as good.

I doubled the recipe for a pot luck lunch at work. It was a big hit! Everyone wanted the recipe. I used a combination of sharp and mild cheddar cheese. I cooked the spirals the night before then added the rest of the ingredients when I got to work. I had some leftover, brought it home and the kids absolutely loved it! I would definately make it again!

This was fast and easy. I made it for a staff luncheon - just took all the ingredients and my slowcooker. Now they ask for it everytime we have a potluck.
