When you start making your own pizza dough it's hard to go back. This dough has fresh minced garlic along with dried basil and oregano to make sure your crust is as yummy as the rest of the pie.

ingredients

1 teaspoon active dry yeast
2 cups bread flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 cloves minced fresh garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
2/3 cup lukewarm water

directions

Combine the ingredients in the bread machine in the order recommended by your machine manufacturer. Set the machine to the dough cycle.

When the dough cycle is complete, remove the pizza dough from the bread machine and place on a lightly floured work surface.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.

Roll the dough into a circle and place in a pizza pan, on a pizza stone, or baking sheet.

Place the garlic herb pizza dough in the oven and bake at 450 degrees F for for 6 minutes.

Remove the pizza crust from oven and add your desired toppings. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 8-12 more minutes (depending on the thickness of your toppings) or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese (if added) is melted and bubbly.

Remove the pizza from the oven. Cut into wedges and serve hot.

I make a lot of scratch dough, but really appreciate the bread machine when I am working. This was one of the best bread machine pizza dough recipes I have used. The flavor was good and the texture was perfect. The crust crisped up nicely and had a soft chew to it. I would definitely use this again.

Made this tonight with my hands. It was quick and easy and my pizza looked very professional. I want to make it again tomorrow. I am dieting and it fit well in my plan.

The dough itself turned out great but the garlic flavor wasn't very strong. I'd probably double the garlic or use really large cloves to get more garlic flavor.

  6. Monica REVIEW:

This was great! It was kinda hard to get out of the bread machine pan and it was very sticky. I got a big bowl and put some olive oil in it (just a little) and then I put all the dough in there. I turned it over and over till it was all coated with oil, and then I put it on the pan and shaped it. I thought my kids might freak when they saw all the seasonings in the dough, but it was a huge hit! My 12-year-old literally took one bite and said, "you should open up your own pizza place!"

This recipe was very easy to make and tasted great with Margherita toppings! I plan on using it again this weekend!
