Fun Food Holidays™ March 25th is National Waffle Day
Waffles have been a popular snack and breakfast food for centuries in Europe, North America, even Asia! Thomas Jefferson is credited for popularizing waffles in the US after bringing a waffle iron home from Europe and using it for guests. They can be served sweet or savory, as a stand-alone cake or a tortilla-like wrap, and range from dense baking powder recipes (American) to light, fluffy yeast-based waffles (Belgian).
