Fun Food Holidays™ National Chocolate Chip Cookie Week

Ask a kid if he'd like a cookie, and he'll say "sure!" Ask him what kind he'd like, and his answer is almost certain to be "chocolate chip!" Purportedly discovered by accident in the US in 1933, chocolate chip cookies can be chewy or crisp, and have inspired a host of variant recipes beyond the basic combination of sugar, brown sugar, chocolate chips and several other ingredients. Ask a kid what week this is, and, if he's savvy enough, he'll say "National Chocolate Chip Cookie Week! Can you make me some, Mom?"
