Cupcakes got their name from the fact that they were teacup-sized individual cakes, also known as fairy cakes in the UK. Frosted chocolate cupcakes are the most popular flavor of this favorite mini dessert. And cupcakes are huge this time of year, at Halloween and Christmas parties or even New Year's Eve bashes.
