Recipe Ratings, Reviews, And Photos
by Guest Writer, Valerie Whitmore
In my last update I mentioned that I was working on improving the recipe tools on the site. The project is 3/4ths done so far and you can already see it in action. One of the things that always bugged me about the process of writing recipe reviews and/or uploading a recipe photo was that each one had to be done in a separate step.
I think a lot of people uploaded a photo but then didn't also submit a review (I mean, they obviously tried the recipe if they took a picture!) or submitted a review but didn't bother to add their photo since it was a separate step.
Now, if you go to add a photo to a recipe you're given the option to also write a review and rate the recipe. All. In. One.
I also made the login process easier when you go to add something to a recipe. You can log in, or even register, right there in the same window. And as always if you don't feel like registering or logging in, you can write a review as a guest.
I also added a "rate this recipe" option. Does the recipe sound good even though you haven't tried it? Rate it! Think of it as similar to the "like" button on Facebook.
The remaining recipe tools will be updated next. I'll be changing the way you can email a recipe to make it easier, you'll still be able to send the recipe to your phone, or save it to your recipEbox or MasterCook. It'll just be easier. Much easier.
