Josh Gunn
Joshua Gunn has been an unmarried man all his life--without even trying! Consequently, he's been cooking for himself for a long time, much too long if you ask his mother. Because of the lonely single life he's led, however, he's gotten pretty darn good with food, especially when it comes to his favorite southern cuisine. Despite having no formal training, Josh has not only conquered the can-opener and microwave, but from time to time can be found in front of a stove range with real pots and pans, cooking things with real vegetables, meat, and spices!
Aside from his expert mastery of bachelordom and all things single-guy, Dr. Gunn is a professor of Rhetorical Studies by day at the University of Texas at Austin, where he teaches courses on popular music and celebrity culture. He has written articles for numerous academic journals and even published a book on popular religious practices. Josh's mother worries about this academic stuff: perhaps all this writing has something to do with why he is still a bachelor? Maybe Josh should stop writing articles and books and check out e-conformity dot com? Or maybe Josh's mother should realize that writing for more popular audiences may actually be a way to meet someone? Have you thought of that mom? Get off my back! You'll get your grandkids one day. Remember Phil Collins said that you can't rush love, you'll just have to hang-on.
Josh is also an ordained minister and a disk-jockey, and can marry you and spin music at the reception for one low price as a part of his "Shotgunn Special." When he is not cooking in his testing kitchen, teaching, or writing books, Josh enjoys training for triathlons and pulling large semi-trucks across flat surfaces with his teeth (just joshing).
