Directions: Heat a griddle to 350 to 375 degrees F.
Slice the bread into pieces that are 4 x 1/2-inch.
Whisk together the milk and eggs in a shallow dish until uniform in color. Whisk in the nutmeg, cinnamon, and sugar.
Dip the bread sticks into the egg mixture, coating them completely and letting any excess drip off. Place them on the hot griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes or until browned then turn over and continue cooking until the underside is browned.
Remove from the griddle and serve hot with syrup or dust with powdered sugar.
