Directions: Bring the water to a boil in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the sugar, citric acid, and tartaric acid. Mix well.
Add the lemon juice and zest to the boiling sugar water. Let simmer for 4-5 minutes or until the mixture is syrupy.
Remove the pan from the heat. Let the mixture cool then pour into a jar with a lid. Can be stored in the refrigerator for several weeks.
To use, mix the lemonade syrup with water in a ratio of 1 part syrup to 5 parts cold water.
