
Spicy Pineapple Ham Glaze

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 can (10 ounce size) pineapple in juice, rings or crushed
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon cornstarch, mixed with
1 ounce cold water to liquefy
1/4 teaspoon salt
maraschino cherries, optional
Place all ingredients in a small saucepan including the juice from pineapple. Turn heat on to medium and stir constantly to prevent burning.
Continue to heat until mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
Allow mixture to boil for approximately 1 minute. If mixture refuses to thicken, add more liquefied cornstarch.
