Ingredients: 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup heavy cream OR 1 cup milk or half and half 4 eggs salt 5 teaspoons sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup quick oatmeal 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 3 tablespoons chopped raisins (optional) 1 pinch cinnamon
Directions: Butter individual custard cups and set in a shallow baking dish half filled with hot water.
In a large bowl combine the milk, cream, eggs, and salt. Add the sugar, vanilla, oatmeal, and nutmeg. Add the raisins if desired. Fill the prepared custard cups to 1/2-inch of the top. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Bake in a 375 degrees F oven for 20 to 25 minutes until set. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes.
NOTE: This may be prepared the night before and baked in the morning.
