Ingredients: 4 quarts water 8 ounces egg noodles or pasta 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Directions: Bring the water to a boil in a large pan over high heat. Add the noodles or pasta and cook until al dente, as directed on the package.
When the noodles are cooked, transfer them to a large skillet using a slotted spoon or pasta server. Add 3/4 cup of the pasta cooking water to the skillet.
Add the butter and herbs to the skillet. Heat, tossing gently to combine, over medium heat until the butter is melted, the water has evaporated, and the noodles are glazed.
Season with the salt and pepper. Serve the buttered noodles hot.
