Ingredients: 1 package (3 ounce size) cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened 3/4 cup sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2/3 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup chopped nuts 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract several drops green food coloring ***CHOCOLATE GLAZE*** 1 ounce unsweetened chocolate 1 tablespoon butter or margarine 1 cup sifted powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 tablespoons boiling water
Directions: Cream together cream cheese, butter and sugar. Beat in eggs.
Stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir into cream mixture. Spoon half the batter into another bowl, then stir in nuts and chocolate to first half.
Drop chocolate batter from tablespoon in a checkerboard pattern into greased 9" x 9" baking pan.
To remaining batter, stir in peppermint extract and food coloring. Spoon green batter into open spaces in baking pan. Swirl with spatula to marble, being careful not to over-mix.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes, or until brownies test done. Cool. Pour Chocolate Glaze over top. Cut into bars.
For Chocolate Glaze: Melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until crumbly. Blend in enough boiling water (about 2 Tbs.) until of pouring consistency.
