
Maple Chocolate Walnut Bars

1 1/2 cup unsifted flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup cold margarine or butter
2 eggs
1 can (14 ounce size) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)
1/2 teaspoon maple favoring
2 cups chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt. Cut in margarine until crumbly. Stir in 1 beaten egg. Press evenly into a 13- x 9-inch baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, beat the milk, remaining egg and flavoring. Stir in walnuts.
Sprinkle chips evenly over prepared crust. Top with walnut mixture. Bake 20 minutes longer or until golden.
Cool. Cut into bars. Store tightly covered at room temperature.
