
Hot Dog Chili

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
salt and pepper, to taste
1 can (15 ounce size) kidney beans, rinsed and drained, optional
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the beef and onion and cook, stirring, until the beef is no longer pink. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the beef, onions, and remaining ingredients to the crock pot and mix well.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 4 hours, stirring frequently.
Serve the chili over cooked hot dogs in buns. Top with cheese and fresh chopped onions if desired.
