Christmas Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients:
16 slices white bread, crusts removed
8 slices back bacon
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
6 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1 dash Tabasco sauce
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
1/4 cup minced onion
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 cups milk
1/4 cup butter
1 cup crushed corn flakes

Directions:
Butter a 9x13 inch baking pan with bread. Cover the bread with bacon, cheese and remaining bread. Beat the eggs and add all the remaining ingredients. Pour egg mixture over the bread and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning melt the butter and pour over the casserole; add cornflakes. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F for about 1 hour. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.

Cook's Notes: This has been a family tradition for us on Christmas morning for close to 20 years. Works great for brunch during the rest of the year, too.
