This Jack Daniel's pecan pie takes the beloved Southern staple and gives it a unique spin with the addition of whiskey and chocolate chips.

3 extra large eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 cup dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup Jack Daniel's whiskey
1 (10-inch) deep pie shell
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecan halves
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, sugar, melted butter, corn syrup, vanilla, and Jack Daniel's whiskey.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the bottom of the pie shell. Pour the pie filling into the shell and sprinkle with the pecans (alternately, you can arrange them decoratively over the filling).
Place the pie in the oven and bake at 375 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until set.
Remove the pie from the oven and let cool to room temperature before serving.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
