ingredients
1 cup flour, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1 tablespoon flour, divided
1 cup quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
1 jar caramel ice cream topping (12-14 ounce size)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
directions
In a bowl, combine 1 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt. Stir in butter. Mix well.
Press into a greased 13" x 9" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes until set.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Combine caramel topping and remaining flour until blended. Drizzle over chips. Sprinkle with nuts.
Bake for 20-22 minutes until bubbly. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
