Can anyone tell me what baking soda does to the final product? Thanks.Reviewed By: DenverDad 2012-10-19Easy to make and tasty. I would have liked it to have a little more cinnamon flavor - maybe add some cinnamon extract? Rather than baking the popcorn, I used the microwave method - Spray a large grocery bag with baking spray and put the popcorn in it. Stir in the cooked candy mixture with a large spoon. Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes, 1/2 minute, 1 1/2 minutes and then 1/2 minute - removing the bag and shaking between each cooking time. (The bag gets quite warm by the end so handle it carefully.) Spread the popcorn in a thin layer on the counter to cool. Clean up is a breeze - just throw the bag in the trash:)Reviewed By: libbygee 2011-12-20I didn't use the extra sugar, and I used puffed corn instead of regular popcorn. Heavenly! 5 stars!Reviewed By: Guest: sheiladancemom 2010-02-03This was good. When I make it again I will use more red hots.Reviewed By: Guest: msdawn72 2008-09-23If you like Red Hots you will love this. Not really hot, just spicy with a little butter flavor. Would make this again and again! Make sure that you keep stirring while boiling as sugar could burn in bottom of your pan. I'm off to buy some more Red Hots!Reviewed By: Guest: Anonymous 2008-05-17really great recipe. helpful info: two bags of popcorn is about 6 quarts; after the candy hardens it's tough to get off. make sure you're ready for scrubbing afterwards!Reviewed By: Guest: anesioooo 2008-02-13Post your own review!
