This is NOT grog. Grog is very simple & better. Unless the mixture blends, hot is NOT the way to go. Here's the recipe for grog, as Vernon made it in 1740:

4 oz rum
qt cold water
2 tbs lime [or lemon] juice
2 tbs sugar

combine. Long live ye Grog! Oh, and a little spice in it is good, too.
