Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

This is a variation on my grandmother's recipe, which is the best chocolate pie I have ever tasted anywhere! It also uses raw eggs, which I know no one wants to use anymore. I have made this for years and shared with friends and everyone loves it. Does anyone know if egg beaters can be substituted, or the real ones that you pour out of a carton?
An egg substitute should work fine.
