This one is excellent! Be careful on your choice of can of black beans - they aren't all the same. Also, barbeque sauce choice is important too. Especially when combined with the chipotle in adobo. This bowl of beans empties quickly!


Yummy! I made it with only one tablespoon of canola oil and skipped the liquid smoke and the chiles, and I cooked it for at least 45 minutes at a very low temperature with the lid on. It was really delicious and much lighter than the El Pollo Loco version.


Tastes great! Added grilled boneless, skinless, chicken strips. Didn't have smoke and removed chili's after cooking.
