Chinese Braised Pork Chops and Cabbage Sauce

ingredients
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger root
3 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
chili flakes to taste
black or white pepper to taste
1 cup chicken stock
8 boneless pork chops
2 heads Napa cabbage
directions
Shred cabbage. Layer in an oven proof covered baking dish, alternating cabbage and pork chops. Pour the sauce over the whole, cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 1.5 hours or until chops are tender and succulent.
Serve with steamed white rice. Also, one could add bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, or any other Chinese vegetable you'd like to.
