Ingredients:
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup mashed bananas
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter -- softened
1/2 cup shortening -- softened
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 whole egg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
12 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 F.

In a large bowl mix brown sugar, sugar, bananas, butter, vanilla extract, shortening and egg together until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg together. Add to wet mixture and mix thoroughly. Add chocolate chips and mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 15 minutes and just starting to brown. Cool 1 to 2 minutes on cookie sheet and then remove to racks.
