Nice Spice Cookies Recipe

Serves/Makes: 72
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup softened shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
4 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
1 1/2 teaspoon clove
Directions:
Beat thoroughly the first four ingredients. Combine the rest in a bowl.
Gradually add flour mixture to batter. Place dough on wax paper (or store in a covered plastic bowl), cover and chill 1-2 hours.
Form into 1-inch balls and place 2-inches apart on a non-stick cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes. I prefer 8 minutes for a soft in the middle cookie.
