What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!

2 cups chopped pecans, toasted
1 box (12 ounce size) vanilla wafers, finely crushed
2 cups powdered sugar, plus extra
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup whiskey
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Blend well with hands to form and roll into 1 inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. Store airtight.
NOTE: Use any kind of nuts if you don't like pecans. I also sometimes add a bit of chopped maraschino cherries, some finely chopped sweet coconut etc for variations.
