The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
9 ounces semisweet chocolate
12 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons orange liqueur, such as Grand Marnier
1 egg yolk
2 whole eggs
directions
Melt chocolate and butter together in an oven with dry, low heat. Set aside.
Make a simple syrup from the sugar and water by bringing mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Cool.
Pour melted chocolate and butter mixture into a bowl. Add simple syrup and orange-flavored liqueur. Whip until smooth. Add egg yolk and whole eggs, whipping until mixture has a glossy surface.
Pour mixture into 6x3" loaf pan and refrigerate overnight.
