Copy the famous wings from Hooter's at home! The key to the crispy texture is the mix of white and whole wheat flour (and a little flavor from some paprika and cayenne).

ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon paprika 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 4 1/2 pounds chicken wings Hooter's brand hot wing sauce
directions
Combine the whole wheat and all purpose flour along with the salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well to distribute the seasonings.
Cut the chicken wings at the joints and discard the tips. Coat the chicken with the flour mixture then place in the refrigerator, uncovered, for 90 minutes.
When ready to cook, heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F.
Place the chicken wings in the oil a few at a time (do not crowd). Fry until golden brown. Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels or brown paper.
Place the cooked wings in a large bowl. Add hot sauce and toss to coat completely. Remove the wings from the bowl with tongs and serve immediately.
These wings tasted just like Hooter's. I was extremely impressed and so was my extremely picky boyfriend! He loved the wings, and for him to say that we can make them again is a pretty big deal! Very very delicious!

If your gonna buy their sauce, what's the point of this recipe? It's the sauce that makes the difference in hot wings!

I found this recipe very good and easy. They had good flavor and the kids enjoyed them without putting the Hooters sauce on them.
I would make them again.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
