24 frozen potstickers, wontons, or other dumplings
1/4 pound lean char siu, thinly sliced
4 cups homemade chicken stock or canned chicken broth
2 quarter-size slices ginger, julienned
1 cup snow peas, raw, cut in half diagonally
1/4 cup canned sliced bamboo shoots
1/4 package firm tofu, drained and thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/8 teaspoon white pepper
2 green onions, thinly sliced


In a large pot of boiling water, cook dumplings according to package directions. Drain, rinse in cold water, and drain again. Place dumplings in soup bowls. Divide char siu among the bowls.

Place broth and ginger in a large pot; bring to a boil. Add snow peas, bell peppers, bamboo shoots, tofu, sesame oil, and pepper; cook until vegetables are tender crisp, about 2 minutes.

Ladle soup into bowls and garnish with green onions.
