Ingredients:
12 ounces shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
8 ounces shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 large Spanish onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic salt
1 cup mayonnaise (or more, if desired)
1 package party rye
bacon bits, if desired

Directions:

Mix together all ingredients. Place rye bread rounds on cookie sheet to slightly harden prior to spooning. Place a plentiful spoonful on party rye. Broil 2-3 minutes until all cheese is melted and browned.

Refrigerate leftover mixture, which can be kept for one week and served to unexpected friends.
