Mashed Pumpkin With Nutmeg

1 pound pumpkin, peeled and cut into pieces
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 ounce unsalted butter
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
Place pumpkin in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover pan and steam 10 minutes or until soft.
Mash with a fork or potato masher. Add nutmeg, butter and salt and pepper to taste. Stir until smooth.
