This is a variation on caramelized onions that uses boiled onions that are glazed with a sugar and steak sauce mixture. The onions come out rich and tender. Delicious served alongside grilled steak or chop them and add to vegetables such as green beans.

ingredients
24 small white onions, peeled, cut in half if large salted water 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup butter 1 tablespoon steak sauce 1/4 cup sugar
directions
Place the onions in a saucepan and add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil and cook for 15 minutes or until soft.
Drain the onions and add them to a skillet with the butter. Sprinkle with the salt and stir to mix.
Add the steak sauce and sugar to the onions and mix well. Cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are glazed and golden brown.
