Everyone should know how to make this classic drink (even if you don't care for them, chances are someone you know loves them!). Make sure to use dry vermouth, not sweet. And here's a fun tip: it's considered bad luck to use even numbers of olives. So, garnish with one or three, never two!
serves/makes:
ready in: under 30 minutes
ingredients
2 ounces gin 1/4 ounce vermouth 3 stuffed olives
directions
Pre-chill, gin, shaker and glasses in freezer and vermouth in refrigerator.
Pour gin into shaker of cracked, not crushed ice. Swirl gin through ice. Pour vermouth.
Shake until shaker is frosted. Pour into martini glass. Gently add olives.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Keeping a can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the freezer means you can make more than just orange juice. Try it in a variety of orange-flavored recipes.
