1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons tomato paste or ketchup
1/4 cup dry red wine or water
3 tablespoons flour

DIRECTIONS:

Combine first measure of flour with the salt and pepper and toss with beef cubes to coat thoroughly. Place in crock-pot. Add green onions and mushrooms.

Combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste or ketchup. Pour over beef and vegetables; stir well. Cover and cook on LOW setting for 7 to 12 hours. One hour before serving, turn to HIGH setting. Make a smooth paste of the red wine and remaining flour; stir into crock-pot, mixing well.

I had 2 lbs of beef sirloin tips, so I made the recipe with the full amount of all other ingredients since I like a lot of sauce and vegetables. Didn't have condensed beef broth so used regular beef broth and it was fine. Cooked 5 hours on low, then last 1 hour on high (after adding flour and wine). Served on egg noodles, and it would have been about right for 6 people.

Excellent, easy and delicious recipe. Just what I was looking for! I had no beef broth, so I substituted 1 cup of warm water, which I used to "rinse out" the dish I seasoned and floured the beef in, just to get all of the seasonings and flour into the crock. Because of differences in cooking temps among slow cookers, I highly recommend checking the beef after about four or five hours, to gauge how much longer you need. Mine was done in 7 hours, and I could have probably turned it off a little sooner, as the smaller pieces of beef were almost too tender. But the flavor was great!

Suggest doubling up on all liquids to obtain proper amount of gravy. West Bend crock pot cooks much faster than others so 4 hours on low is more than enough time. If over cooked, meat tends to liquify. Very good recipe but still feels like something missing.
