Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
20 each cloves
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 lemon, grated peel only
6 egg yolks
1 bottle Rhine wine
1 cup sugar
Directions:
Tie the spices in a piece of cloth. Hang it in the water and simmer for 1 hour (add some water when it evaporates). Cool.
Beat the egg yolks with sugar until creamy. Add wine and liquid. Put in double boiler and stir until it thickens.
