Homemade Chai Recipe

Serves/Makes: 4
Ingredients:
4 cups cold water
3 tea bags (Black tea is best - I use decaf Earl Grey)
2 cinnamon sticks
6 cardamom seeds
3 whole cloves
6 black peppercorns
1/4 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
1/2 inch fresh ginger sliced thin
1 cup (more or less to taste) plain or vanilla soymilk, or regular milk
4 teaspoons maple syrup, more if desired
Directions:
Place water, tea bags and all spices in a pot, bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 10-20 minutes. Add milk and heat through. Strain chai, add maple syrup to taste. This is excellent both hot and cold. Enjoy!
