Lemonade gets all the love, but limeade should be just as popular! The mix of fresh lime juice and mint sprigs makes for a tangy, refreshing summer drink. Freeze into ice cubes and make into margaritas if that's your style!

1 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
4 cups cold water
1 1/2 cup sugar or sugar substitute
ice cubes
6 lime twists or wedges
6 fresh mint sprigs
Combine the lime juice, water, and sugar. Mix well, then chill thoroughly before serving.
To serve, place ice in tall glasses. Pour the limeade over the ice and garnish with a lime twist and mint sprig.
Freeze leftover limeade in ice cube trays to use in cocktails.

I think this does have too much sugar. I added it to taste and it wasn't 1 1/2 cups. Good fresh lime flavor.

Real lime is the best, its cool and natural. Its better than Teas and tends to stay with a person longer. Go to your local grocer - select a lime from their produce - not to soft - but rich in color take it home usually for about 30 cents. Then enjoy, Slice it thin and put it in a gallon of tap water. Place in frig and start enjoying - about 4 oz at a time.

I varied this just a little based on the notes that this could be frozen in ice cube trays. I made the recipe as is and froze it. Then added the ice cubes to unsweetened iced tea. Perfect!
Too much sugar! We drank half of it then I mixed in 1 cup lime, 2.66 cup water... It was much better... I think I would start with 1.5 cups lime, 4 cups water, .5 cup sugar and test it next time to see if it needed more sugar...

Given the other review, I just added sugar to taste after I mixed it up (so I didn't really measure). It's refreshing with fresh squeezed limes (I used key limes) and the mint.
