Homemade Sloppy Joes

1 pound cooked ground beef, turkey or chicken
1 cup frozen chopped onions and peppers
1 can (6 ounce size) tomato paste
1 can (15 ounce size) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 hamburger or hot dog rolls
Combine all ingredients except rolls in a slow cooker and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Non-crock pot method: Combine all ingredients except rolls in large skillet and cook until heated through and onions and peppers are cooked.
Serve over rolls.
