Buttermilk Coffee Cake Recipe

Serves/Makes: 10
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup salad oil
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the first 6 ingredients. Mix well. Reserve 1/2 cup of this mixture and toss it with the walnuts and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside to use as a topping.
Then, to the original mixing bowl, add the buttermilk, eggs, baking powder and soda. Blend thoroughly. Pour into the greased baking pan and sprinkle the topping over the batter.
Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes, or until it tests done. Cool slightly, but serve warm.
