recipe is ready in 30-60 minutes Ready in: 30-60 minutes
recipe difficulty 3/5 Difficulty:   3 (1=easiest :: hardest=5)

Serves/Makes:   4

Ingredients:
1 pound ground meat of your choice
1 package beef gravy mix
OR
1 cup gravy from a jar or leftover
1 can creamed or regular corn, peas and carrots,
3 cups mashed potatoes (instant is okay, or use leftovers)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350F

Brown the beef. Prepare the gravy and mix it with the beef in a casserole dish (I use a 10" round one so that it's a little deeper than a regular baking pan). Pour the vegetables over that, and then dollop the mashed potatoes on top and spread to cover. Bake until hot through, about 20-30 minutes.

This is like pizza: you throw in/on whatever you want. Grated cheese in the mashed potatoes is a wonderful addition, as is garlic. If you're using ground turkey, you can use turkey or chicken gravy, etc. Or you can use frozen broccoli and cheese sauce (thaw first) in place of the other canned vegetables. Not particularly authentic, but always tasty.
