Who doesn't love a dish that practically begs to be simmered to perfection? This one-pot wonder combines hearty knockwurst, tangy sauerkraut, and yes, a delicious pour of beer.

3 cups sauerkraut, rinsed & drained
1 apple, peeled & chopped
6 knockwurst
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
1 teaspoon sugar
1 can (12 ounce size) good beer (dark beer is best, do not use light beer)
Place the sauerkraut in the bottom of the crock pot. Top with the chopped apple and knockwurst.
Sprinkle the ingredients with the caraway seeds and sugar. Slowly pour the beer over all.
Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 5-6 hours or until the knockwurst is heated through.

Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
What's the secret ingredient in these cakes? Pudding mix. It not only adds flavor but it gives the cake a richer, creamier texture. No one will know your secret ingredient!
